Programme

  1. Stellantis unveiled six concept cars at a preview in Meudon, outside Paris, before the 2026 Paris Motor Show opened to the public.
  2. The Fiat Multiplay measures 4.45 metres and converts a six-seat-plus-one family layout into a four-seat pickup via a sliding rear section.
  3. Citroën reimagined its 1948 2CV as a compact electric concept with a detachable Radioën speaker.
  4. The DS F3VER's rear light assembly contains 16 LED panels inspired by the vaulted roof of the Grand Palais.
  5. Stellantis was formed in 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group.

Stellantis showed six concept cars at a preview event in Meudon, outside Paris, on the eve of the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The designs, documented in a video carousel produced by Dezeen in partnership with Stellantis, span everything from a reworked 1948 classic to paint that shifts colour with the light.

So what does this change for car design? The six concepts — one each from Fiat, Citroën, Peugeot, DS Automobiles, Opel and Alfa Romeo — read as a portfolio of positions: heritage revival, transforming bodies, hidden screens, aerodynamic detailing and driver-focused cabins.

Which cars were shown?

  • Fiat Multiplay — a 4.45-metre vehicle that converts from family car to pickup.
  • Citroën 2CV concept — the 1948 model reborn as a compact electric car.
  • Peugeot RCZ Vision — a low-slung coupe with a double-bubble glass roof.
  • DS Automobiles F3VER — a compact car in colour-shifting Cosmic Blue paint.
  • Opel STX Concept — an electric estate with aerodynamic detailing.
  • Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso — a streamlined sports-car study.

How does the Fiat transform?

The Multiplay pairs family-car proportions with pickup function. A sliding rear section converts its six-seat-plus-one layout into a four-seater with an open cargo bed.

Inside, a front passenger seat called the Sunseat folds into a lounge position beneath the panoramic roof. A modular Petsenger seat holds a pet, a child seat or storage. The exterior is bright green; the pink floor and red-and-pink upholstery take their palette from a watermelon.

What did Citroën do with the 2CV?

Citroën reimagined its 1948 2CV as a compact electric car with an orange-red body, grey steel wheels and yellow accents. Yellow tartan upholstery echoes the original model, and a fabric sunroof plus a removable storage basket replace conventional fittings.

Two details stand out. A detachable radio called Radioën doubles as a portable speaker. And door compartments are sized to hold eggs — a nod to the practical brief of the original car.

What's inside the Peugeot RCZ Vision?

The RCZ Vision is a low-slung coupe with a sculpted body and a glass roof whose double-bubble profile runs from the bonnet toward the rear. Slim horizontal headlights reinterpret Peugeot's three-claw motif. A rear spoiler deploys only when the car is moving, keeping the bodywork smooth when parked.

The interior drops the conventional steering wheel for Hypersquare, a square steering control. Transparent micro-LED displays (ultra-fine light panels) supply driving information while reducing the visual weight of screens.

How does the DS change colour?

The F3VER wears Cosmic Blue paint that shifts from vivid blue to violet depending on the light. Vertical Y-shaped headlights frame the front emblem, and the two-tone finish wraps around the rear.

At the back, 16 LED panels sit inside a sculptural light assembly informed by the vaulted roof of Paris's Grand Palais.

What about Opel and Alfa Romeo?

Opel's STX Concept is an electric estate with a low roofline, sharply creased bonnet and sloping rear. Its Vizor grille incorporates vertical animated lights around an illuminated Opel emblem. Cameras replace wing mirrors, the rear bumper carries extendable aerodynamic elements, and three-section alloy wheels aim to cut drag.

Alfa Romeo's Cuorerosso explores future sports-car design with a streamlined body, active air intakes and slim aerodynamic mirrors. Its rear window echoes the shape of the brand's triangular front grille. The interior is organised around the driver, with controls concealed in the central console until needed.

Why one show, six brands?

Stellantis was formed in 2021 through the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and France's PSA Group. Its portfolio includes Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Opel and Peugeot, among others.

By presenting all six concepts together before the public opening, the group turned the Paris preview into a single argument: that its brands' futures will diverge in style while sharing one corporate platform strategy.
