L'Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris has released its 2026-27 season, a nine-event lineup running from September 2026 through June 2027 across the company's stages.

The season opens on Sept. 24, 2026 with a concert introducing the new artists in residence in an evening of arias and ensembles by Haydn, Mozart, and Gluck. The incoming class comprises sopranos Daria Akulova, Neima Fischer, Ana Oniani, and Lorena Pires; mezzo-sopranos Winona Berry, Grace Heldridge, and Amandine Portelli; tenors Matthew Goodheart and Yiming Liu; baritones Kirill Odintsov and Yurii Strakhov; and bass-baritone Kevin Arboleda-Oquendo. Yvonne Sembene directs, and Polina Lebedieva conducts.

On Oct. 14, 2026, the artists in residence perform lieder by Robert Schumann, Gustav Mahler, and Richard Strauss.

Artists from the Paris Opera Ballet and the Academy join forces for an evening of dance and music at the Salle des Trois Fleuves on Oct. 22–23, 2026, with performances repeating there on April 9–10, 2027.

The Academy marks the end of the calendar year on Dec. 16, 2026 with what it describes as a musical journey between the Old Continent and the New World — a program spanning cabaret, musical theatre, operetta, and zarzuela.

The season's flagship event falls on Jan. 26, 2027, when singers and musicians in residence perform at the Academy artists' gala alongside the Paris Orchestra under conductor Giulio Cilona at the Palais Garnier.

From March 11 to April 2, 2027, director Victoria Sitjà stages the resident artists in "Ce qui brûle en silence," conducted by Evann Loget-Raymond. It is the season's only staged production with a named run of performances.

On April 29, 2027, resident artists give a recital pairing the music of Kurt Weill with works by Victoria Poleva.

The concert "Melody Salves," set for May 20, 2027, draws on music by Tchaikovsky, Havrylets, Shostakovich, and Rachmaninoff — a program weighted toward the Russian and Ukrainian repertoires.

The season closes on June 24, 2027 with a French program of works by Erik Satie, Maurice Yvain, Henri Christiné, Francis Poulenc, and Jean Wiener.

The announcement follows the Academy's 10th anniversary season and arrives alongside L'Opéra de Paris' newly announced programming for young audiences and families in 2026-27, signaling the company's continued investment in training the next generation of opera artists.
