Way Dynamic, the Melbourne folk-pop project of 30-year-old multi-instrumentalist Dylan Young, has signed with the indie label Jagjaguwar, which is preparing to re-release his 2025 album Massive Shoe internationally.

The signing caps what has been a rapid ascent for the Australian musician. Elton John, Djo, Zane Lowe and Elijah Wood have all publicly praised his work. Last year, Young opened for Black Country New Road, Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman on their Australian tours — a run of support slots that put him in front of audiences already primed for literate, guitar-driven songwriting.

The music itself explains the attention. Way Dynamic's sound recalls the Beach Boys and the Beatles, according to the Guardian profile that documents his rise, with a warm analogue crackle, subtle yet lush layers, gentle vocals and pensive lyricism.
