Krill will release their first album in ten years. Secret Language, the Boston-formed indie rock band's comeback LP, arrives November 13 on their longtime label, Exploding in Sound.

The band shared the new song "Dominate" alongside a video directed by Heavenly Tedious. The track follows "Commemorative Plaque," the July single that marked their return after recently reuniting in Chicago.

Singer-bassist Jonah Furman framed the new song in a press release: "'Dominate' is a song about growing up in the 90s and 00s in the heart of empire, the violence of wanting to win, how we teach our children to want to dominate others, a US TV culture of watching gladiator-like scenes of rule by power. It's about war, it's about basketball, it's about childhood."

The reunion took shape when Ovlov invited Krill to open a Chicago show, Furman said. He brought back longtime Krill drummer Ian Becker and guitarist Andrew Clinkman, and recruited Patter's Seth Engel to produce and engineer the album. Finom violinist Macie Stewart, Tredici Bacci, Fran's Maria Jacobson, and Trigger saxophonist Will Greene all contribute to the LP.

Krill split in 2015 after releasing Distant Fist Unclenching and a companion EP. Since then, they have played two reunion shows, reissued their debut, and released a 2020 album as Knot—which the band now considers retroactively a Krill album, "because it's easier that way," they said.

The band has scheduled headline shows in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia, plus a slot at Some Fest in Maine.

With a nine-track LP, a touring schedule, and a revived partnership with Exploding in Sound, Krill's decade-long hiatus now looks less like an ending than a reset.
